The Friends of the Monona Public Library’s annual event, Loud in the Library, truly soared to new heights this year! Since 2017, this adults-only fundraiser has been a favorite gathering for the community, bringing together food, drinks, music, and games—all in support of the Monona Public Library.
This year’s theme, “Out of this World,” proved to be just that, raising an incredible $23,787—a 45% increase from the previous year! This success was fueled by a surge in sponsorships from local businesses and the introduction of a new silent auction, which proved to be a fantastic addition to the festivities.
The event was expertly planned by Jen Kuhr, Andy Kitslaar, and Chyna Benzine with the support of so many talented volunteers whose creative touches made the evening truly unforgettable. The funds raised will support the Summer Reading Program along with other special projects at the library, ensuring continued growth and innovation for the Monona community. Special projects include: a circulating vinyl record collection, new computer table, upcoming tool library at the end of the year, study rooms refresh, and painting the lower level.
