2024 Library Funding Support
The Friends supported the Monona Public Library through:
Programming
Early literacy (story time materials, STEAM programs, Performers, Take & Make Kits): $2700
Elementary-Teen (makerspace program materials, Graphic Novel Book Club, ArtStudio Kids, Library After Dark, Teen Volunteer Gifts): $1800
Adults (author series, history events, create & make monthly series, Kanopy film streaming platform): $6000
Special large programs (summer performers, Storyteller): $1500
Summer Reading Program: $2000
Space improvements/DIY Activities: $300
Collection improvement, makerspace program materials, expand kit offering & create new kits for teens: $1000
Story Walk project: $2500
Total donated to the library via their annual ask (items above): $17,800
In addition, regular ongoing funding supported:
Maintaining the library gardens
Fund landscaping upkeep (this ended in 2024),
BookPage magazine
Children’s area aquarium maintenance
Raising Funds & Connecting with the Community
